Inspection and verification
1. Check the validity of the customer's complaint by using the system.
2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.
Visual inspection table
Mechanical factors |
Electrical factors |
- Leaks – Expansion tank of the cooling system – Electric fan(s) - Radiator - Water pump – Accessory drive belt |
- Fuse - Wiring harness – Loose or corroded connector(s) – Cylinder head temperature sensor |
3. If an obvious cause for the problem you have identified or the customer has described is found, correct the problem (if possible) before proceeding further.
4. If the cause of the problem is not visually obvious, clarify the symptom of the problem and refer to the Symptom Table.
