The air filter cover and housing are made of plastic. There are four screws on the cover to allow access to the filter element. The air filter housing is connected to the vehicle using three pins located on the bottom of the housing. These pins are inserted into rubber bushings fixed in the support bracket.
All except vehicles with 1.6L Duratec engine
The MAF sensor is attached to a plastic housing, which is fixed to the air filter cover with two screws. The air filter intake piping is connected to the base of the air filter housing. The air filter outlet pipe is clamped to the MAF sensor housing and throttle body.
