Removal
All cars
1. Remove the headlight assembly. For more information, refer to the Headlight Assembly chapter in this section.
WARNING: This system contains high voltage. Make sure the headlamp assembly connector is disconnected when the headlamp rear cover is removed. Failure to do so may result in personal injury.
2. Remove the rear cover of the headlight.
Cars manufactured up to 03.2002.

CAUTION: Make sure that the headlights do not turn on when the headlight connector is disconnected.
CAUTION: Make sure that the headlight bulb retaining ring does not turn when removing the headlight bulb starter.
NOTE: The headlight bulb starter connector will be disconnected automatically when the headlight bulb starter is removed.
Remove the headlight bulb starter.
4. Remove the headlight bulb retaining ring.
Cars manufactured since 04.2002.

CAUTION: Make sure that the headlights do not turn on when the headlight bulb connector is disconnected.
NOTE: The headlight bulb starter connector will be disconnected automatically when the headlight bulb starter is removed.
Remove the headlight bulb starter.
6. Release the headlight bulb U-clip from the mounting hardware.

WARNING: Use safety glasses and gloves when removing and installing xenon headlight bulbs. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury.
CAUTION: Do not touch the glass surface of the headlight bulb.
Remove the headlight bulb.
Installation
All cars
1. Install the headlight bulb.
Cars manufactured up to 03.2002.
2. Install the headlight bulb retaining ring.
Cars manufactured since 04.2002.
3. Connect the headlight bulb U-clip to the mounting hardware.
All cars
4. Install the headlight bulb starter.
5. Connect the headlight bulb starter connector.
6. Install the headlight rear cover assembly.
7. Install the headlight assembly. For more information, refer to the Headlight Assembly chapter in this section.
