Headlight leveling motor (vehicles after 10.2001) (Focus 1)

Removal

1. Remove the headlight. For more information, refer to the Headlights (Single Side) chapter in this section.

WARNING: If your vehicle is equipped with xenon headlights, there is high voltage in the system. Before removing the rear cover of the headlight, make sure to disconnect the headlight plug connector. Failure to follow this instruction may result in injury.

Remove the rear headlight cover.



3. Disconnect the headlight range adjuster motor plug.

NOTE: Turn the headlight leveling motor counterclockwise when removing the right headlight and clockwise when removing the left headlight.

Turn the headlight range control motor to the stop (right side shown).





5. Remove the headlight range adjuster motor.

Installation

NOTE: Make sure the ball end of the headlight range control motor is inserted into the guide.

Install the elements back in place in reverse order.
