Covering headlight sections (cars manufactured after 10.2001) (Focus 1)

NOTE: Right hand drive and left hand drive templates are not interchangeable. Right headlight and left headlight templates are not interchangeable.

1. Print out the correct templates provided at the end of this instruction.

2. Measure the distance "X" on the printed template.

3. Calculate the enlargement/reduction factor "Y" for a photocopier using the formula Y=Z(X(100.

X = distance on printed template in millimeters
Y = increase/decrease factor in percent.
Z = original distance in millimeters = 25

4. Photocopy of printed templates with calculated enlargement/reduction factor.

Compare the distance "X" on the photocopy with the original distance.

5. Cut out the prepared templates for the headlights.

6. Cut out the shaded areas.

Left-hand drive vehicles

Place the template on the headlight lens and adjust its position.

NOTE: Right headlight only.

Place the template on the headlight lens and adjust its position.

Place the template on the headlight lens and adjust its position.

CAUTION: Make sure that the headlight lens is not scratched.

Transfer the template outline onto the headlight lens using a suitable marker.

12. Remove the template.

NOTE: When masking headlights, do not go beyond the contours of the area.

Apply black transparent tape to the marked area.

14. Repeat steps 11-13 for the other headlight.

15. Template for left-hand drive vehicles, right headlight.
