Removal
1. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to Section 303-05 for additional information.
2. Disconnect the fender splash shield from the front bumper cover to gain access to the lower right headlight mounting bolt.

3. Remove the lower bolt securing the right headlight.

4. Using the special tool, disconnect the line from the power steering fluid cooler.
- Insert the special tool into the spring-loaded lock coupling.
- Run the special tool along the pipeline to release the locking tabs.
- Allow the liquid to drain into a suitable container.

5. Using the special tool, disconnect the line from the power steering pump.
- Allow the liquid to drain into a suitable container.
- Discard the O-ring as it is no longer needed.

6. Remove the lower power steering pump mounting bolts.

7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Remove the radiator grille.

9. Remove the right headlight assembly. Disconnect the plug connector.

10. Disconnect the power steering hose from the power steering pump. Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.

11. Release the power steering line from the clamp on the engine and place it aside.

12. Remove the power steering pump.

Installation
1.
NOTE: If a new power steering pump is installed, the nipples supplied with the new pump should be removed and saved for future use.
Using the special tool, install a new O-ring onto the nipple connecting the power steering pump to the steering gear line.
- 1.Press the O-ring to install it on the special tool.
- 2. Install the special tool on the nipple and install the O-ring in the required position.

2. Install the elements back in place in reverse order.
3. Add power steering fluid and bleed the system. Refer to Section 211-00 for additional information.
