Power Steering Pump — 1.4L/1.6L (with A/C)

Special tool

	Teflon Seal Expander 211-188 (13-015)
	Oil Cooling Pipe Puller 307-242 (17-049)

Withdrawal

1. Remove the accessory drive belt. See Section 303-05 for more information.

2. Using the special tool, disconnect the power steering fluid cooler hose.

• 1. Insert the special tool into the quick coupling.
• 2. Run the special tool through the pipeline to release the locking elements.
• Let the liquid drain into a suitable container.

3. Disconnect the power steering line support bracket from the engine.



4. Lower the car.


5. Disconnect the power steering pressure switch connector (PSP). Press the locking element.



6. Disconnect the nipple connection of the power steering line. Let the liquid drain into a suitable container.



7. Disconnect the power steering fluid hose from the power steering pump. Let the liquid drain into a suitable container.



8. Disconnect the power steering pump support bracket from the engine (shown below for clarity).




9. Remove the power steering pump.



10. Remove the power steering line from the power steering pump.



11. Remove the PSP relay.

Installation

1.

NOTE: When installing a new power steering pump, the nipple connections supplied with the pump should be removed and stored for later use.

Using the special tool, install a new o-ring on the power steering pipe connection nipple to the power steering pump.

• 1.Place a new seal on the special tool.
• 2.Install the special tool on the nipple and install the O-ring in the required position.

2. Install the PSP relay.



3. Connect the power steering line to the power steering pump.



4. Install the power steering pump.




5. Connect the power steering pump support bracket to the engine (shown below for clarity).



6. Connect the power steering hose to the power steering pump.



7. Connect the nipple connection of the power steering line.



8. Connect the plug connector of the PSP relay.



9. Raise and support the vehicle. See Section 100-02 for more information.

10. Connect the power steering line support bracket to the engine.



11. Connect the power steering fluid cooler hose.



12. Put on the accessory drive belt. See Section 303-05 for more information.

13. Add working fluid to the power steering system and bleed air from the system. See Section 211-00 for more information.
