Withdrawal
1. Remove the accessory drive belt. See Section 303-05 for more information.
2. Disconnect the power steering line from the power steering pump support bracket.
3. Using the special tool, disconnect the power steering line from the power steering pump. Let the liquid drain into a suitable container.
4. Disconnect the power steering pressure switch connector (PSP).
5. Disconnect the power steering fluid hose from the power steering pump. Let the liquid drain into a suitable container.
6. Remove the power steering pump.
7. Remove the PSP relay.
Installation
1.
NOTE: When installing a new power steering pump, the nipple connections supplied with the new pump should be removed and saved for later use.
Using the special tool, install a new o-ring on the power steering pipe connection nipple to the power steering pump.
- 1.Press the O-ring to install it on the special tool.
- 2.Install the special tool on the nipple and install the O-ring in the required position.
2. Install the PSP relay.
3. Install the power steering pump.
4. Connect the power steering fluid hose to the power steering pump.
5. Connect the plug connector of the PSP relay.
6. Using the special tool, connect the power steering line to the power steering pump.
7. Connect the power steering line to the power steering pump support bracket.
8. Install the accessory drive. See Section 303-05 for more information.
9. Add working fluid to the power steering system and bleed air from the system. See Section 211-00 for more information.
