Rear Caliper Piston Retractor 206-012 (12-006)

Removal


1. Loosen the wheel nuts.

2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Section 100-02 for additional information.

3. Remove the wheel.

4. Disconnect the parking brake cable.
  • 1.Pull back the parking brake lever.
  • 2. Disconnect the cable from the parking brake lever.
  • 3.Remove the cable sheath clamp.
  • 4. Disconnect the cable and cable sheath.

4. Disconnect the cable and cable sheath.

CAUTION: Secure the caliper to the side to avoid damaging the brake hose.


Disconnect the caliper.

Disconnect the caliper.


6. Remove the brake pads.

Installation


1.
CAUTION: If the pistons are retracted into the housing, brake fluid may be forced out of the master cylinder.


Using a special tool, push the caliper piston all the way in.

2. Install the brake pads.

NOTE: Make sure the brake shoe springs are positioned correctly on the caliper.


Install the caliper.

4. Connect the parking brake cable.
  • 1. Install the cable and cable sheath in the required position.
  • 2. Install the cable clamp.
  • 3.Pull back the parking brake lever.
  • 4.Connect the cable to the parking brake lever.

5. Install the wheels.
