Disassembly
1. Remove the caliper. For more information, refer to the Caliper - Front Brakes chapter in this section.

CAUTION: To prevent damage to the caliper piston, place a block of wood or a rag between the caliper piston and the caliper body.
Remove the caliper piston from the caliper body using compressed air.
3. Remove the caliper piston.

4. Remove and discard the dust seal.

5. Remove and discard the piston seal.

6. Inspect the caliper piston and piston bore for pitting and scoring, and install a new piston if necessary.
Assembly
1. Lubricate the piston bore, piston seal and caliper piston with Super DOT 4 brake fluid meeting Ford specification ESD-M6C57-A.

NOTE: The caliper seal fits into a groove in the piston bore.
Install the new caliper seal into the piston bore.

3. Install a new dust seal onto the caliper piston.

CAUTION: Be careful not to scratch or damage the caliper piston when installing it into the caliper bore.
Insert the caliper piston into the caliper bore.

5. Install the dust seal.
6. Install the caliper. For more information, refer to the Caliper - Front Brakes chapter in this section.
