Front Disc Brake Caliper (Focus 1)

General equipment: Brake hose clamp.

Removal

CAUTION: If brake fluid comes into contact with the paintwork, the affected area must be immediately washed with cold water.

1. Loosen the wheel nuts.

2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Section 100-02 for additional information.

3. Remove the wheel.

4. Disconnect the brake hose from the support bracket.




5. Loosen the brake hose.

• 1. Clamp the brake hose.
• 2. Loosen the nipple connection of the brake hose.

6. Remove the front brake pads. For more information, refer to the Pads - Front Brakes chapter in this section.

7. Disconnect the caliper from the brake hose. Plug the brake hose to prevent brake fluid from leaking out and dirt from getting in.

Installation

NOTE: Bleed the brake system after installation. Refer to Section 206-00 for additional information.

When installing, perform the removal procedure in reverse order.
