Withdrawal


1. General notes:
  • Depending on the nature of the damage, sectional replacement of the rear panel is possible.
  • Remove the bumper, tail light, tailgate seal, striker and rear exhaust silencer before beginning repairs.
  • Move flooring and wiring away from work area.

2. Back panel (at both sides)
  • 1. Mill to a depth equal to twice the thickness of the panel.
  • 2. Mill out the spot welds using an abrasive wheel.



3. Spare wheel well
  • 1. Mill out the spot welds.
  • 2. Mill out the spot welds (to a depth equal to twice the thickness of the panel).



4. Crossbar
  • Cut out spot welds (at both sides).



Installation


1. Spare wheel well


  • 1. Perform a puddling weld.
  • 2. Ream (diameter 5 mm) existing holes to a depth equal to the thickness of the panel. Then do a puddling weld (to a depth equal to twice the thickness of the panel).



2. Back panel (at both sides)
  • 1. Ream (diameter 5 mm) existing holes to a depth equal to the thickness of the panel. Then do a puddling weld (to a depth equal to twice the thickness of the panel).
  • 2. Perform a puddling weld.



3. Crossbar (at both sides)
  • Perform a puddling weld.
