Withdrawal
1. General notes:
- Depending on the nature of the damage, sectional replacement of the rear panel is possible.
- Remove the bumper, tail light, tailgate seal, striker and rear exhaust silencer before beginning repairs.
- Move flooring and wiring away from work area.
2. Back panel (at both sides)
- 1. Mill to a depth equal to twice the thickness of the panel.
- 2. Mill out the spot welds using an abrasive wheel.
3. Spare wheel well
- 1. Mill out the spot welds.
- 2. Mill out the spot welds (to a depth equal to twice the thickness of the panel).
4. Crossbar
- Cut out spot welds (at both sides).
Installation
1. Spare wheel well
- 1. Perform a puddling weld.
- 2. Ream (diameter 5 mm) existing holes to a depth equal to the thickness of the panel. Then do a puddling weld (to a depth equal to twice the thickness of the panel).
2. Back panel (at both sides)
- 1. Ream (diameter 5 mm) existing holes to a depth equal to the thickness of the panel. Then do a puddling weld (to a depth equal to twice the thickness of the panel).
- 2. Perform a puddling weld.
3. Crossbar (at both sides)
- Perform a puddling weld.
