Removal
WARNING: To avoid the risk of accidental deployment, the air bag control module backup power must be discharged. Wait at least one minute after disconnecting the battery ground cable(s) before attempting any repairs or adjustments to the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) or any component(s) adjacent to the SRS sensors. Failure to follow these instructions could result in personal injury.
WARNING: To minimize the possibility of premature air bag deployment, do not use radio key code storage devices when working with the supplemental restraint system. Failure to follow this instruction may result in injury.
WARNING: Never touch the tester probes to the electrical connectors of the air bag modules or any other component of the supplemental restraint system. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to Section 414-01 for additional information.
2. Remove the front seat. For additional information, refer to Section 501-10.
3. Remove the front and rear door sill plates. Refer to Section 501-05 for additional information.
4. Remove the floor covering from the floor panel.
5. Disconnect the side impact sensor electrical connector.
6. Remove the side impact sensor.
Installation

WARNING: Make sure the side impact sensor installation tabs are properly inserted into the floor panel. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
WARNING: Never touch the tester probes to the electrical connectors of the air bag modules or any other component of the supplemental restraint system. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
NOTE: The crash sensors for the left and right seats are the same.
To install, follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
