Weber choke opening adjustment

A - screwdriver, B - adjusting screw in the housing

1. Unscrew the three screws securing the housing of the starting device and the bimetallic spring.

2. Remove heat shield.

3. Check and, if necessary, adjust the clearance of the starting damper.

4. Hold the start throttle in the closed position with a rod or rubber cord.

5. Fully depress the accelerator pedal to fully open the mixture throttle and close the start damper, and then release the pedal.

6. Move the diaphragm of the vacuum regulator by hand until it stops and measure (e.g. with a 1.5 mm drill) the width of the gap between the starting damper and the wall of the air chamber.

Attention! The regulator diaphragm and its rod are repelled by a return spring. Therefore, they must be moved all the way to the stop in order to obtain the maximum gap width.

7. If the clearance is incorrect, turn the adjusting screw in the regulator housing until the required clearance is obtained.
