Throttle valve (TV) control mechanism adjustment

            0

Box type AHOD

1. Throttle valve cable (TV) AHOD system only needs to be adjusted if the cable, bracket, gearbox, main control unit or throttle control unit have been disassembled or replaced.

2. The eye of the TV cable must be connected to the throttle control lever connection and the cable sheath to the cover of the distributor drive.

3. Make sure the threaded shank is tucked away in the cable attached to the motor bracket all the way. To pull it out, bring the spring support and swing the shank from side to side by the end, while pressing it through the spring (see picture).

6.3. Installation elements of the AHOD system cable.
1. Motor support bracket.
2. Body.
3. Cable eye.
4. Clamping jaw.
5. Spring.
6. Threaded shank.
7. Cable.
8. Push in with a vibrating motion at this point.

4. Connect the end of the butterfly valve cable (TV) to the throttle body.

5. Rotate the throttle lever to fully open the throttle, then open it. The threaded shank must pop out or "click out" from clamping jaws. If this does not happen, look for broken or disconnected elements, and then repeat the procedure.

ATX type box

6. On these models, TV cable misalignment symptoms are too early or erratic actuation of the drive and/or no downshifting.

7. Bring the engine to normal operating temperature at idle, and loosen the pilot rod assembly trunnion slide block bolt at least one turn (see picture).

8. Clean the control rod from traces of corrosion, release the trunnion block so that it moves freely.

9. Turn up the TV control lever without force, with one finger then check that the TV lever is opposite the internal idle stop (stop) (see picture) Without applying force to the control lever TV, properly tighten the trunnion block bolt.

6.9. Then, with one finger, turn the TV control lever up relative to the transmission, positioning it against the internal idle stop and tighten the bolt on the trunnion block.
