Box type AHOD
1. Set the selector lever to position "Overdrive" (overdrive), opposite the rear "Stop" and have a helper support it in that position as you adjust.
2. From the side of the engine compartment, loosen the nut that secures the box drive lever to the cable.
3. Move the box drive lever to position "Overdrive" (second stop after rear position). Tighten the nut securely.
4 Check the operation of the drive at every stop, make sure the engine starts only when the selector lever is in neutral.
ATX gearbox
5. Put the selector lever in position "Drive" (broadcast) and have an assistant hold it in this position throughout the adjustment.
6. From the engine bay side, loosen the trunnion adjusting bolt located at the end of the drive cable.
7. Move the gear lever to the position "Drive" (second stop after rear position), tighten the adjusting bolt securely.
8. Check drive operation at every stop and make sure the engine only starts when the selector lever is in neutral.
