Replacing and adjusting the neutral start sensor

1. Disconnect the wire from the negative battery terminal.

2. Set the shift lever to "neutral".

3. From the side of the engine compartment, unscrew the nut that secures the switch lever to the shaft; disconnect the lever from the shaft. Mark the flat surfaces of the shaft - they are made in such a way that it is impossible to install the lever incorrectly.

4. Pull out the electrical connector, unscrew the two locking bolts and remove the switch.

5. Put the new switch in its place on the shaft, install the bolts.

6. To adjust the switch, insert a #43 drill into the adjustment hole (0.089 inch) and properly tighten the bolts (see picture). Remember that in no other gear can the drill be inserted as deeply as in neutral.

7. Connect the wire to "-" battery.

8. Try to start the engine in a parking lot" And "neutral" to make sure the switch works.
