Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.

If necessary, eliminate the increased pressure in the cooling system. To do this, very carefully and gradually open the expansion tank cap.

Drain the coolant into a clean container (Fig. 2.148).

Remove the electrical connector plug from the sensor located under the intake manifold.

Unscrew the sensor.

The new sensor is installed in the reverse order.

The sensor must be installed with a new gasket.

Place the electrical connector plug into the sensor socket, making sure that the latches on the plug and socket are properly engaged.
Gradually fill the cooling system with liquid.

Connect the battery to the vehicle's electrical system.

Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature (the upper coolant hose should be hot).

If necessary, bring the coolant level in the expansion tank up to the norm (to the "MAX" sign). Fig. 2.149 shows the coolant temperature sensor.
