Replacing the outdoor temperature sensor

            0

The outside air temperature sensor, although located at the front of the vehicle behind the grille in a sun-protected and ventilated area, is affected by factors such as warm air from the engine and radiation from hot asphalt. Therefore, his readings can sometimes be somewhat overestimated, especially after a long idle time in traffic jams. The outdoor temperature readings can be considered correct when driving at a speed of at least 40 km/h for at least 10 minutes.

If it is necessary to replace the sensor, perform the following operations.

1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the storage battery.

2. Remove the engine mudguard (see Removal and installation of mudguard and crankcase protection).

3. Squeeze the retainer and disconnect the sensor harness connector.

4. Press the spring holder..

5….and remove the sensor.

6. Install the new outdoor temperature sensor in the reverse order of removal.
