On the microclimate control unit, simultaneously press buttons 10 (see Fig. 12.5) and 13 for no more than 2 s, then press button 15 within 1.5 s. The on-board diagnostics that has started will last for several seconds. During this time, animated information will be shown on display 5 of the microclimate control unit. All detected faults will be shown on both halves of the display as fault codes. For example, the left half of the display shows "90", the right half shows "B3" – the read fault code is 90B3 (short circuit of the electrical circuit of the air temperature sensor supplied through the right air ducts of the instrument panel – short circuit to ground). Table 12.1 shows the codes of possible faults and their decoding.
When button 4 is pressed, the information in the fault code memory device is erased and the diagnostic mode is terminated. To exit the diagnostic mode without erasing the fault codes, press any other button on the climate control unit.
