Replacing the pressure sensor (Mondeo 4)

The sensor is screwed onto the threaded pipe fitting through a shut-off valve. Therefore, when removing the sensor for inspection or replacement, there is no need to bleed the refrigerant from the system.

You will need a 14 mm wrench.

To replace the pressure sensor, follow these steps.

1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Press the lock and disconnect the wiring harness connector from the sensor.

2. Press the lock and disconnect the wiring harness connector from the sensor.


3. Unscrew the sensor from the threaded fitting on the pipeline.

CAUTION: When loosening and tightening the sensor, use the appropriate size wrench to prevent deformation or damage to the sensor housing.


4. Install the new sensor in the reverse order of removal.

NOTE: When replacing the sensor, the O-ring A on the threaded pipe fitting should be replaced with a new one and lubricated with air conditioning oil before screwing on the sensor.


5. Check the tightness and completeness of the air conditioning system with refrigerant at a specialized center for servicing automotive air conditioners.
