NOTE: To protect the engine casing, as well as all units and assemblies located in the engine compartment, from damage by stones flying out from under the wheels, a plastic or steel shield can be installed on the vehicle upon request. However, it should be taken into account that this shield is not able to protect the engine casing from strong impacts with large road obstacles (large stones, stumps, curbs, etc.), since in this case it itself can be damaged.
The engine mudguard and crankcase protection are removed if they are damaged or to provide access to the units and assemblies from underneath the vehicle during repairs and maintenance. Additional engine crankcase protection is secured individually in each case (depending on its design).
You will need: keys "8", "13", "17", screwdrivers with flat and Phillips blades.
1. Remove the engine crankcase protection mounting bolts.
NOTE: The engine skid plate mounts are located in these locations.
2. Remove the crankcase guard by disengaging it from the holders on the body.
3. Unscrew the clips securing the engine mudguard to the front bumper.
NOTE: Engine splash guard mounts are located in these locations.
4. Remove the pistons.
5. Remove the remaining engine mudguard mounting screws…
6….and remove the mudguard.
7. Install the mudguard and engine crankcase guard in the reverse order of removal.
