Position of the starting choke controls when adjusting the automatic starting device of a Weber carburetor

1. Partially open the throttle valve and turn the fast idle cam until the adjusting screw touches its top.
2. Release the accelerator pedal and lock the cam in this position.
3. Close the starting throttle until the cam stop rests against the fast idle adjustment screw.
4. While holding the starting valve in the closed position, measure the width of the gap between the edge of the throttle valve and the wall of the air chamber. Use a rod or drill of the appropriate diameter for measuring.
5. If the gap is not correct, adjust it by pressing the plate (B).
Adjusting the high idle speed of the engine
1. Connect a tachometer to the engine.
2. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature and release the accelerator pedal.
3. With the engine running, hold the starting damper in a vertical position (fully open) and turn the starting device lever until it is stopped by the fast idle mechanism.
4. Measure the engine speed and, if necessary, adjust it by turning the fast idle speed adjusting screw.
