Checking ball joints for clearances (Scorpio 2)

Raise the car onto jack stands from the front.



Place a suitable lever so that it rests on the inner edge of the wheel and on the lower part of the transverse arm.

Carefully press the lever up and check the gap. The gap is the path of the lower part of the transverse lever before the movement is transferred to the pivot support.

The gap should not exceed 0.5 mm. If this size is exceeded, the worn ball joint must be replaced.

Lower the car.
