Checking the steering for play (Scorpio 2)

Turn the steering wheel to the straight-ahead position.

Turn the steering wheel in different directions and watch the wheels. The arc of the steering wheel rotation before the wheels start moving should not exceed 30 mm.

If the specified size is exceeded, it is necessary to check the steering linkage, steering gear and clearances in the front axle wheel bearings.

Move the steering rods strongly by hand in different directions. There should be no gaps in the ball joints, otherwise the joints or steering rods must be replaced.
