Checking the brake fluid level (Scorpio 2)

            0

The brake fluid expansion tank is located in the engine compartment. The tank has 2 chambers, one for each brake circuit. The screw cap has a ventilation hole that cannot be closed.

The expansion tank is made of transparent material, so that the brake fluid level can be checked from the outside at any time. In some vehicle models, a warning light on the instrument panel lights up when the brake fluid level is too low. However, it is advisable to check the fluid level visually approximately every 4 weeks.

The fluid level should be no higher than the MAX mark and no lower than the MIN mark.

Top up only with new brake fluid that meets SUPER DOT 4 or FORD ESD-M6C57A specification.

Due to wear of the brake linings, the brake fluid level drops slightly - this is normal.

If the level in the tank drops sharply in a short period of time, this indicates a loss of brake fluid.

In this case, it is necessary to immediately look for the leak. As a rule, the cause lies in worn cuffs of the wheel brake cylinders. For safety reasons, the brake system should be checked at a service station.
