Removal and installation headlights (after 8/94) (Scorpio 2)

Removal

Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.

Caution: When the battery is disconnected, the contents of electronic memory devices, such as engine fault codes or radio codes, are erased. Before disconnecting, also read the instructions in the chapter "Removal and installation the battery".

Raise the front of the car onto jack stands. Loosen the nut under the headlight that secures the headlight ground wire to the body. Lower the car.



Disconnect the multi-contact plug connectors "1" of the incandescent lamps and the actuator motor of the headlight beam angle adjustment mechanism. Unscrew the two bolts "2" and remove the headlight.

Installation

Screw the headlight with two bolts "2". Connect the multi-pin plug connectors "1" of the incandescent lamps and the actuator motor of the headlight beam angle adjustment mechanism.

Tighten the nut under the headlight to secure the headlight ground wire to the body.

Connect the ground (-) cable to the battery.

If available, set the clock and enter the radio theft protection code.

Check the operation of the headlights.



Have your headlights adjusted at a service station.
