Checking and adjusting low beam headlights (Transit 2)

1. Precise adjustment of headlight beams is only possible with special optical equipment and must be performed by a Ford dealer or a suitably equipped service station.

2. Temporary adjustment can be made after removing and reinstalling the headlights, or whenever the setting needs to be changed. To do this, turn the adjusting screws at the rear of the headlight (see figure 13.2, a, b).

3. When adjusting the headlights, it is important that the tire pressure is normal and the car is parked on a level horizontal surface. Rock the front of the car to settle the suspension. It is best to have someone sit in the driver's seat during the adjustment and perform the adjustment with a full tank of fuel.

4. Whenever the operating conditions of the vehicle change, it is advisable to readjust the headlights.
