Replacing incandescent interior lighting

Attention: Before replacing the light bulb, switch off the relevant consumer at the switch.


Interior light/reading light





Using a small flathead screwdriver, carefully pry the cover off the roof lining at the points indicated by the arrows.

Unfasten the reflector and take it to the side. Remove the soffit lamp and replace it with a new one.

Models with additional reading lights, tilt the contact board aside and replace the reading lights incandescent.

Attach and fix the reflector.

Insert the cover into the recess in the roof lining and press it until it locks into place.

Folding mirror light





Use a small flathead screwdriver to pry out the mirror frame.

Remove the soffit lamp and replace it with a new one.


Attach and fix the mirror frame.

Lights for lighting: footwell, luggage compartment, door locking mechanism, door sill



Use a small flathead screwdriver to pry out the light.



Vehicles up to 8/94: Turn the lamp housing to the left and remove the bulb holder. Remove the bulb from the holder.

Attention: The lamp is inserted, not screwed in.


Cars from 9/94: remove the soffit bulb. If the lamp sits weakly, carefully bend the tabs of the contacts.

Cars up to 8/94. Insert a new bulb into the holder. Push the lamp housing onto the lamp holder and lock it by turning to the right.

Press the lamp housing into the recess and fix it.
