Correct adjustment of headlights is of great importance for road safety. Precise adjustment of headlights is only possible with a special adjustment device. Therefore, this chapter only tells where the adjustment points are located and what conditions must be met during adjustment.
Tires must have the prescribed inflation pressure.
The unloaded vehicle must be loaded with a weight of 75 kg (the weight of one person) placed on the driver's seat. The fuel tank must be filled to capacity. The vehicle must then be rolled for a few meters to ensure that the suspensions are in the correct position.
To perform checks and adjustments, place the vehicle on a level surface.
If available, set the headlight beam angle adjustment knob on the instrument panel to position 0.
The headlights are adjusted only for low beam. The optical axis tilt value for normal headlights is 12 cm at a distance of 10 m. Fog lights, the optical axis tilt value is 22 cm at a distance of 10 m.
Attention: Before adjustment, check the headlight diffusers and reflectors for defects. Replace incandescent lamps with black deposits with new ones.
Adjusting the main headlights
Turn on the low beam.
Access to the adjusting screws is from the engine compartment.
Cars up to 1/92
Adjusting screws: A - adjustment in the horizontal plane; B - vertical adjustment. The right headlight is shown in the figure. For the left headlight, the adjusting screws are arranged in a mirror image. For cars without headlight beam angle adjustment, screw "A" is located directly on the headlight housing, and there is no actuator motor.

The fog lights are adjusted only in the vertical plane. The adjustment is performed by turning the screw "A". B - screws for fastening the fog light.
