Headlight adjustment

Proper headlight adjustment is essential for road safety. Fine adjustment of the headlights is only possible with a special adjustment device. Therefore, this chapter only talks about where the adjustment points are located and what conditions must be met when adjusting.

Tires must have the prescribed inflation pressure.

The unladen vehicle must be loaded with a mass of 75 kg (weight of one person), located on the driver's seat. The fuel tank must be filled to capacity. After that, the car needs to be driven a few meters so that the suspensions take the correct position.

To carry out checks and adjustments, park the vehicle on a level surface.

If equipped, set the headlight beam throw adjustment knob on the instrument panel to position 0.

The headlights are only adjustable in low beam. The optical axis tilt value for conventional headlights is 12 cm at a distance of 10 m. Fog lamps, the optical axis tilt value is 22 cm at a distance of 10 m.

Attention: Before adjustment, check the headlight lenses and reflectors for defects. Replace incandescent lamps with black deposits with new ones.

Main headlight adjustment

Turn on low beam.

Access to the adjusting screws is carried out from the side of the engine compartment.

Cars up to 1/92

Adjusting screws: A - adjustment in the horizontal plane; B - adjustment in the vertical plane. The figure shows the right headlight. For the left headlight, the adjusting screws are mirrored. On vehicles without headlight beam leveling, the screw -A- is located directly on the headlight housing, there is no actuator motor.

Cars from 2/92 to 8/94

Fog lamp adjustment, vehicles up to 8/94

Fog lamps are adjusted only in a vertical plane. The adjustment is made by turning the screw -A-. B - fog lamp mounting screws.

Fog lamp adjustment, vehicles from 9/94

The fog lamps can only be adjusted vertically. The adjustment is made by turning the screw -A-.
