Removal and installation of the heating system control unit (up to 1/92)

Withdrawal



Disconnect ground wire (-) battery.

Attention. Disconnecting the battery erases the contents of the electronic memories, such as engine trouble codes or radio codes. Before switching off, also read the instructions in chapter "Removing and installing the battery".


Remove instrument panel see p. 177.



Use a felt-tip pen or marker to mark the installation position of the Bowden cables. Open clip -B-, remove clip -A- and disconnect Bowden cable from temperature control lever. For clarity, the control unit is shown in the removed state.

Perform the same operations on the other side of the control unit and disconnect the Bowden cable from the air distribution lever.



Unscrew the 4 fixing screws and pull out the control unit.


Installation



Insert the control unit and fasten with screws.

Attach the Bowden cables in accordance with the marks made before removal and attach to the control unit, while pushing the movable clamps and fixing the cable sheaths.

Install instrument panel see p. 177.

Connect ground wire (-) battery.

If available, set the clock and enter the radio's anti-theft code.
