General information about the interior heating system

            0

Fresh air from the bottom of the heating system is sucked in through the grate under the windshield and fed by the heater fan into the vehicle interior. In this case, the air passes through the heater housing and is directed to the respective air nozzles by means of various dampers. The dampers are controlled by Bowden cables. If the heating system is on (warm), the cold air is directed through the heat exchanger where it is heated. The heat exchanger is located in the heater housing and is heated by the hot liquid of the engine cooling system. The flowing air is heated by the hot heat exchanger plates and then fed into the vehicle interior.

The increase in air flow through the heat exchanger provides a three-mode fresh air fan. In order for the fan to rotate at different speeds in each mode, additional resistances are included.

The resistors are located in the fan connector. If a defect occurs, the connector must be replaced as a set. The heater housing and fan are installed in the passenger compartment under the instrument panel.

Special equipment: air conditioning system

With the help of the air conditioning system, the temperature of the air in the passenger compartment can be lowered below the temperature outside the vehicle. In addition, the operation of the air conditioning system reduces the humidity in the cabin. The air conditioning compressor is driven from the engine crankshaft by a V-belt, which is checked as part of routine maintenance and must be replaced if worn, see section "Maintenance". Repair of the air conditioning system must be carried out at the service station.

Attention: Do not open the refrigerant circuit of the air conditioning system and do not carry out welding work near it, as the leakage of refrigerant can cause harm to health and injury.
