Wrench for unscrewing the fan clutch





Dimensions: X=25 mm, Y=12 mm.


Hydraulic fan clutch





1, 2, 3 - housing front, 4 - bimetal spring, 5 - housing with cooling fins, 6 - valve, 7 - inlet, 8 - seal, 9 - rotor, 10 - drive shaft


1. Disconnect ground wire from battery.

2. Remove the upper part of the fan shroud by unscrewing the two bolts and disconnecting the four clips.



3. Unscrew the fan clutch from the coolant pump hub. For unscrewing, a curved open-end wrench s=32 is required (OHC) or s=36 mm (V6).

Attention! The fan clutch nut has a left-hand thread.


4. When unscrewing the nut of the fan coupling, tighten the V-belt and thus prevent the hub from turning.



5. Unscrew 4 bolts and remove the impeller from the coupling.

6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
