Attention! As a result, data in electronic storage devices, such as an engine fault memory or a radio code, are erased. Please read the section carefully "Removing and installing the battery", before disconnecting it.
Removal in cars with a carburetor engine
Remove the air filter see point 5.6.
Unscrew the wire holder bolt on the suction pipe outlet and remove the wires from the generator.
Remove the top alternator mounting bolt.
Mark with paint the position of the right front wheel relative to the hub. As a result, the balanced wheel can be mounted in the same position. Loosen the wheel nuts with the vehicle on the ground. Place the car on stands at the front and remove the right front wheel.
Remove the inner fender of the car, see point 17.3.
Remove the belt pulley cover and loosen the V-ribbed belt, remove only from the alternator belt gear, see paragraph 1.19.
Remove the tie rod head, see point 13.3.
Unscrew the lower mounting bolt and remove the alternator through the wheel arch.
Installation
Install the alternator, screw in the lower mounting bolt without tightening.
Lower the car to the ground.
Tighten the top alternator mounting bolt to 50 Nm.
Raise the vehicle.
Tighten the lower mounting bolt with a torque of 50 Nm
Mount the V-belt and pulley cover, see paragraph 1.19.
Mount the tie rod head, see point 13.3.
Mount the inner fender of the car, see point 17.3.
Install the right front wheel so that the markings made during dismantling coincide. Lubricate the surface of the rim seat on the wheel hub with bearing grease first. Spin the wheel. Lower the vehicle to the ground and tighten the wheel nuts crosswise to 100 Nm.
Connect the electrical wires to the generator and screw the wire holder to the suction pipe outlet.
Mount the air filter see point 5.6.
Connect the ground wire" batteries (-).
Set the clock to the current time.
Set the radio's anti-theft code.
Removing the alternator in vehicles with a turbodiesel
Place the car on stands.
Remove the engine under cover, see point 2.4.
Remove the alternator V-belt see paragraph 1.19.
Remove the aftercooler, see point 1.9.
Disconnect the multi-pin connector from the generator, unscrew the thick wire.
Unscrew and take out the generator.
Installation
Install the alternator and tighten with a torque of 50 Nm.
Put a multi-pin connector on the generator, screw on a thick wire.
Place the car on stands.
Mount the V-belt and tighten see paragraph 1.19.
Install the engine under cover.
Lower the car to the ground.
Connect the wire "masses" batteries (-).
Set the clock to the current time.
Set the radio's anti-theft code.
