Withdrawal

Disconnect the ground wire (-) from the battery.

Attention! As a result, data in electronic storage devices, such as an engine fault memory or a radio code, are erased. Please read the section carefully "Removing and installing the battery", before disconnecting it.

Raise the vehicle. Drain the engine oil see par. 28.

If so, remove the engine compartment trim.

Petrol engine: remove the front exhaust pipe, see point 8.

Diesel engine: unscrew the V-belt guard and lower toothed belt guard from the underside of the vehicle, see point 1.7.

Remove the two bolts securing the oil pan to the gearbox flange.

Diesel engine: Disconnect the wire connector from the crankshaft speed sender -16-. If necessary, unscrew the sensor and remove it from the bushing in the oil pan.

Cars with an oil level indicator: Disconnect the wire from the oil level sensor -2-. If necessary, unscrew the sensor and remove it together with the seal.

Remove the 10 bolts securing the oil pan to the cylinder block (diesel engine 14 bolts) and lift the oil pan down. If the pallet sits firmly, then it can be carefully squeezed out with a screwdriver.

Installation

Clean the inside surface of the oil pan.

Clean the sealing surfaces of the oil pan and cylinder block. If the sealing surface of the pallet is deformed, then it can be carefully straightened.

4-cylinder petrol engine

Lubricate the sealing surface of the cylinder block at the junction of the front and rear protective covers with a sealing mass, for example, WSK-M4G320A from Ford or Hylosil 502.

Attention! Tighten the oil pan mounting bolts within 20 minutes of applying the sealing compound.

Install the oil pan with a new seal and secure it with bolts.

Slide the oil pan all the way towards the gearbox, the pan and cylinder block should form the same plane.

Screw the oil pan from below with two bolts to the gearbox flange.

Tighten all bolts evenly and crosswise to 20 Nm. Do not overtighten the bolts or you will crush the seal.

Diesel engine

Lubricate the sealing surface of the cylinder block at the junction of the front and rear protective covers with a sealing mass, for example DPM-4G-9112-F / G from Ford or Loctite 275.

Attention! Tighten the oil pan fixing bolts 20 minutes after applying the sealant.

Install the oil pan with a new seal and secure it with bolts.

Attach the oil pan from below with two bolts.

Tighten all bolts slightly to 10 Nm. Tighten all bolts except for the corner bolts counterclockwise first, and only then tighten the four corner bolts.

If removed, install and tighten the crankshaft speed and oil level sensors. Connect the wire plugs to the sensors, they should click into place.

Fill in new engine oil, see par. 28.

Diesel engine: Screw on the toothed belt and V-belt guards at the bottom.

Petrol engine: install the front exhaust pipe with catalytic converter, see point 8.

Lower the car onto its wheels.

Connect ground wire (-) to the battery. Set the clock and set the radio's anti-theft code.

Do a test drive, check the oil pan for leaks, if a leak is found, carefully tighten the bolts.

If so, install the lower engine cover.
