Antifreeze poured into the radiator (Mondeo 1)

The manufacturer fills the engine cooling system with a mixture of water and antifreeze and anticorrosive agent from Ford. Antifreeze and anticorrosive agent prevent freezing of the coolant in the engine cooling system and, in addition, these additives increase the boiling point of the coolant. Therefore, the engine cooling system must be filled with antifreeze with an anticorrosive additive all year round.

Attention! For Ford Mondeo, only Motorcraft Super Plus 4 antifreeze or other antifreeze of the ESDM-97B49-A specification, manufactured by Ford, can be used. The ratio of antifreeze to water in the cooling system should be 1:1. This mixture does not allow the cooling system to freeze at temperatures down to -35°C.
