Removing and installing the fan motor (Mondeo 1)

Removal



Disconnect the negative (-) cable from the battery.

Warning! This will erase data in electronic memory devices, such as the engine fault memory device or the radio code. Please read the section carefully "Removing and installing the battery", before disconnecting it.


Petrol engine: Remove the air bleed hose/resonator, see p. 5.6.

Disconnect the plug from the fan motor. Cut the plastic retaining straps with side cutters and replace them during installation. Unscrew the two upper fastening bolts "arrow" for the air duct.

Lift the fan and duct by pulling the duct retaining tab at the bottom out of the mounting clip.

Unscrew the motor from the fan bracket.

Installation



Install the motor on the air duct and screw it on, tightening torque 10 Nm.

Install the air duct with the fan motor into the car. In doing so, you must engage the lower protrusions of the air duct.

Screw the air duct at the top with a torque of 10 Nm.

Connect the plug to the engine, check the strength of its fit by shaking it from one side to the other. Route the wire as it was routed before dismantling, secure it with new straps-holders.



Install the air intake hose/resonator.

Connect the ground (-) wire. Set the clock, set the radio anti-theft code.
