Removal
Mark the position of the wheels on the hub with paint so that they can be installed in the same place during assembly. Loosen the wheel nuts on the lowered car. Raise the front of the car and remove the front wheels.
Remove the cotter pin "E" and unscrew the castle nut "D" securing the end "A" of the steering rod to the steering knuckle arm. B - Lock nut, C - Transverse steering rod.
Press out the joint "A" with a special puller "C". B - Pivot pin lever.
Loosen the lock nut and unscrew the end from the cross rod.
Attention! Note the number of turns when unscrewing, when installing, screw the tip the same number of turns.
Installation
Screw the steering rod end back on to the previous number of turns and secure it with a lock nut. Do not tighten the lock nut.
Insert the tip pin into the hole in the trunnion lever.
Tighten the castle nut to 25 Nm and secure it with a new cotter pin. If the cotter pin does not fit into the hole, do not loosen the nut, but tighten it until the cotter pin fits into the hole.
Install the front wheels so that the marks made earlier match. Before installing the wheels, lubricate the centering surface on the wheel hub with a thin layer of consistent grease.
Screw on the wheel nuts. Lower the car and tighten the nuts crosswise to 100 Nm
Rock the car a little to set the suspension.
Check the wheel alignment and tighten the tie rod end lock nut to 40 Nm.
