Removal
Remove the tie rod end.
Remove the clamps from both sides of the cuff. Cut the clamps with nippers or loosen the screw clamps. Replace the wire clamps with screw clamps during installation.
Remove the rubber cuff.
Attention! If the cuff has been defective for a long time, then contaminants have got inside. Together with the lubricant, they act as a grinding paste and destroy the steering gear. In this case, as well as in the presence of traces of corrosion on the steering rack, eliminate the defect at a service station.
Installation
Lightly lubricate the steering rod "C".
Lightly lubricate the inner edges "E" of the seal "B" and place it on the steering rod "C".
Secure the cuff with clamp "D" to the steering rack housing "A". Install the steering rod end.
Secure the cuff to the steering rod with a clamp, while the cuff tape should fit firmly into the annular groove of the steering rod.
Lower the car.
Check wheel alignment and adjust if necessary.
Check that the cuff has not turned. Finally, secure the outer screw clamp.
