Removal and installation of a steering wheel

            0

Note! A dirty or sticky steering wheel can be cleaned with a neutral household cleaner and warm water, do not use cleaners containing abrasives.

Withdrawal

Put the wheels in the straight ahead position.

Disconnect the ground wire (-) from the battery.

Attention! As a result, data in electronic storage devices, such as an engine fault memory or a radio code, are erased. Please read the section carefully "Removing and installing the battery", before disconnecting it.

Remove the airbag. To do this, unscrew the two mounting bolts from the side of the instrument panel.

Carefully disconnect the airbag and disconnect the airbag and horn multi-pin plug.

Attention! After removal, it is necessary to lay the airbag, in order to avoid accidental operation, with the mechanism down.

Turn out a bolt of fastening of a steering wheel, keeping it from turning a hand.

Mark the position of the steering wheel on the steering shaft. To do this, draw a line through the steering wheel and steering shaft with a felt-tip pen.

Remove the steering wheel from the steering shaft. To do this, you need to make a lot of effort, since the steering wheel is rather tight on the shaft.

Installation

Check if the steering lever is in the middle position, otherwise the cam may be damaged when installing the steering wheel.

Position the steering wheel on the steering shaft cone with the top of the spoke horizontal.

Tighten the steering wheel hex bolt to 50 Nm.

Connect the multi-pin plug of the air bag and the horn.

Install the upper and lower steering shaft covers.

Connect ground wire (-) to the battery terminal.

Set the anti-theft radio code.

Carry out a test drive and check the position of the steering wheel while driving in a straight line. The upper spoke of the steering wheel must be horizontal.

If the steering wheel has an inclination of more than 30°, it must be reinstalled. Adjust the position of the steering wheel for less tilt.

Check the automatic return of the turning lever to the middle position.
