Removing and installing the steering column (Focus 2)

NOTE: The steering column can be removed as an assembly with or without the ignition switch (depending on the purpose of removing the steering column). This subsection describes removing the steering column with the ignition switch removed.


You will need: a 10 mm wrench, 10 mm and 13 mm socket heads, an extension, and a piston puller.

1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

7. Remove the instrument panel trim panel (see "Removing and installing the instrument panel").

8. Under the instrument panel, open the wire harness holder and remove the harness from it.

9. Using a piston puller, disconnect the wire harness holder from the steering column…
