Gear Shift Lever — Removal and Installation (Focus 1)

Removal

1. Remove the gear shift lever cover.

• 1. Release the lid.
• 2. Remove the gear shift knob. Remove the damper bushing and compression spring.
• Disconnect the connectors (the number and configuration depends on the specific equipment).

2. Remove the center console.



3. Disconnect the shift cable from the shift lever and the mounting clip from the bent lever.



4. Remove the bearing housing and shift lever.

• Pull the curved lever outward.

Installation

1. Install the elements back in place in reverse order.



2. Adjust the gear shift cables.
