Lever gear shift mechanism — removal and installation

Withdrawal

1. Remove the boot and shift knob.

2. Remove the floor console. See Section 501-12 for more information.

3. Remove nuts of fastening of the lever mechanism of a gear change.



4. Disconnect the shift cables from the shift linkage.

• Turn the support bushings clockwise and disconnect the cables from the bracket.

5. Disconnect the shift cable from the shift lever.



6. Disconnect the selection cable from the gear selection lever.



7. Remove the gearshift linkage.

Installation

1. Replace the elements in reverse order.

2. Adjust shift cables. See Section 308-00 for more information.
