Disassembly
1. Remove the floor console. See Section 501-12 for more information.
2. Move the shift lever to third gear.
3. Disconnect the shift cable from the shift lever (for clarity, the gear lever mechanism is shown removed).
4. Disconnect the gear selection cable from the gear selection lever (for clarity, the gear lever mechanism is shown removed).
5. Turn out bolts of fastening of the top case of the lever mechanism of a gear change (for clarity, the gear lever mechanism is shown removed).

NOTE: Mark the position of the lock bar.
Remove the top case of the lever mechanism of a gear change (for clarity, the gear lever mechanism is shown removed).
7. Remove a lock ring of the lever of a choice of transfers.
- Discard the retaining ring as it is no longer needed.
- Remove the puck.
8. Remove the gear selection lever.
Assembly

NOTE: Install a new gear selector retaining ring.
Reinstall the elements in reverse order.
