Inspection and verification


1. Check the validity of the customer's complaint.

2. Perform a visual check for obvious signs of mechanical damage.

Visual Inspection Table


Mechanical factors:
  • Visibly damaged or worn parts
  • Loose or missing bolts and nuts.

3. If an obvious cause of a problem you identified or described by the customer is found, correct the problem before proceeding to further action (if possible).

4. If the problem is not visually obvious, check the symptom and refer to the Troubleshooting Table.

A1: GEAR SHIFT LEVER CHECK

1 Disconnect the shift cables from the shift lever.

• Is the shift lever difficult to operate?

Yes

Disassemble the shift mechanism and check for wear or damage to the components. For more information, refer to the Shift Lever available in this section.

No

Go to A2

A2: CHECK SHIFT CABLES

1 CONNECT the shift cables to the shift lever.

2 Disconnect the shift cables from the transaxle assembly.

• Is the shift lever difficult to operate?

Yes

INSTALL new shift cables.

No

Internal malfunction of the gearbox in the block with the drive axle. Install a new gearbox in the drive axle block. See Section 308-03A / 308-03B / 308-03C for more information.
