The purpose of this test is to detect slipping of the clutches and band brakes, to check engine power and torque converter operation. Before testing, the oil level in the gearbox and the liquid in the engine cooling system must be normal. and their operating temperature. The forced reverse shift linkage must be properly adjusted.

Start the engine in the positions of the selector lever «R» or «N». When moving the selector lever to positions «R», «D», «2» And «1» you should feel some resistance. To check the speed of the engine crankshaft, it is necessary to install a control tachometer in the cabin, in the driver's field of vision. Apply the parking brake to failure and depress the brake pedal.

Start the engine, move the selector lever to the position «ABOUT», press the accelerator pedal all the way down for 3 seconds and determine the crankshaft speed using the tachometer. Do the same for the selector lever position «R». In these positions, the crankshaft speed should be in the range of 2350-3050 rpm.

WARNING: Do not exceed a test duration of 3 seconds, between two tests the engine should run for about 15 seconds at idle speed, the selector lever in the position «N».
