WARNING: Do not smoke or walk with a lit cigarette or any type of open flame while working on or near fuel related items. In such situations, there are always highly flammable mixtures that can ignite. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury.


WARNING: Never repair the fuel injection system while the engine is running. The fuel pressure in the system can reach 1600 bar. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury.


WARNING: Safety glasses must be worn at all times when working on or near any fuel-related items. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury.


CAUTION: Make sure that the repair area where the vehicle is being serviced is as clean and dust free as possible. Clutch, brake, welding, or machining areas are unsuitable due to the risk of clogging the fuel system.


CAUTION: Be sure to use clean tools that are free of grease. Before servicing the vehicle, clean the tools with a new brush that does not shed bristles and fresh cleaning fluid.


CAUTION: Use a steel-top workbench covered with clean, lint-free, smooth material.


CAUTION: Make sure that all items removed from the vehicle are placed on a lint-free, smooth material.


CAUTION: Ensure that all protective clothing is clean and made from smooth, lint-free material.


CAUTION: Ensure that any protective gloves worn are new, non-talc latex type.


CAUTION: Cover all electrical components and connectors with a smooth, lint-free material before using cleaning fluid.



1. Using a new brush that does not shed bristles, apply cleaning fluid to the parts to be removed and to the surrounding area.

2. Using a pneumatic vacuum gun, remove all traces of cleaning fluid and foreign material.

3. Dispose of any unused cleaning fluid and brush after repair.
