WARNING: Never repair the fuel injection system while the engine is running. Fuel pressure in the system can reach 1600 bar. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury.


WARNING: Always wear safety glasses when working with or near any fuel related items. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury.


CAUTION: Ensure that the area of the workshop where the vehicle is being serviced is as clean and dust-free as possible. Areas where clutches, brakes, welding or machining are carried out are unsuitable due to the risk of fuel system contamination.


CAUTION: Make sure that clean, grease-free tools are used. Clean tools with a new, non-shedding brush and fresh cleaning fluid before servicing the vehicle.


CAUTION: Use a workbench with a steel table top covered with a clean, lint-free, smooth material.


CAUTION: Ensure that all items removed from the vehicle are placed on a lint-free, smooth material.


CAUTION: Ensure that all protective clothing is clean and made of smooth, lint-free material.


CAUTION: Make sure any protective gloves worn are new, unpowdered latex type.


CAUTION: Before using cleaning fluid, cover all electrical components and connectors with a smooth, lint-free material.



1. Using a new brush that does not shed bristles, apply cleaning fluid to the removed parts and the surrounding area.

2. Using an air vacuum gun, remove all traces of cleaning fluid and foreign material.

3. Discard any unused cleaning fluid and brush after completing repairs.
