Cylinder head — disassembly and assembly

Disassembly

1. Disconnect the intake manifold. Remove the gaskets.



2. Remove the engine wiring harness.

• 1. Disconnect the throttle position sensor (TP sensor) plug connector.
• 2. Disconnect the idle air control (IAC) valve connector.
• Release the wiring harness.

3. Remove the engine wiring harness. Disconnect the injector connector.



4. Remove the fuel manifold.

• Disconnect the vacuum hose.
• Remove the bolts.

5. Disconnect the auxiliary elements located on the cylinder head.

• 1. Ignition coil (EI).
• 2. Coolant outlet pipe with gasket
• 3. Engine lifting eye
• 4. Capacitor

6. Remove the camshaft position (CMP) sensor.

NOTE: Do not reuse the cylinder head temperature (CHT) sensor

Remove the SNT sensor.

Assembly

1.

WARNING: Do not reuse the SNT sensor. When installing a new SNT sensor, do not damage the pin contact.

CAUTION: Place the cylinder head on a soft (such as rubber) support.

Install the SNT sensor.

NOTE: The new cylinder head comes with valves but without studs to install the exhaust manifold.

Screw new studs into the new cylinder head.



3. Install the camshaft position (CMP) sensor with a new O-ring.




4. Connect the additional elements located on the cylinder head.

• 1. Ignition coil (EI).
• 2. Coolant outlet pipe with gasket
• 3. Engine lifting eye
• 4. Capacitor

5. Connect the fuel manifold.

• 1.Install the bolts.
• 2.Connect the vacuum hose.

6. Install the engine wiring harness. Connect the injector connector.




7. Install the engine wiring harness.

• 1. Connect the throttle position sensor (TP sensor) plug connector.
• 2. Idle Air Control (IAC) Valve Connector
• Secure the engine wiring harness.

NOTE: Replace gaskets.

Install the intake manifold.
