Fuel Evaporative Control System Carbon Canister Purge Valve (Focus 1)

Removal

WARNING: Do not smoke or carry a lighted cigarette or open flame of any kind when working with or near fuel-related items. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may ignite. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.

Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.

2. Disconnect the electrical connector of the carbon filter valve.

3. Disconnect the vacuum hose and fuel vapor hose from the carbon canister cleanout valve.

4. Remove the carbon filter cleaning valve.

Installation

Install the elements back in place in reverse order.
