Heater housing — disassembly and assembly (Focus 1)

Disassembly

1. Release the ventilation hose at floor level. Disconnect the hose.



2. Disconnect the heater/heat exchanger housing sections.

• Remove two bolts.
• Release the seven clamps.

3. Remove the heat exchanger.



4. Remove the heat exchanger.



5. Disconnect the heater/blower housing sections.

• 1. Remove two bolts.
• 2. Release the four fasteners.

6. Disconnect the air blower/recirculation fan housing sections.

• Release the nine fasteners.

7. Disassemble the air recirculation housing. Release the five fasteners.



8. Remove the air deflector.



9. Disconnect the heater/evaporator housing. Release the eleven fasteners.

Assembly

1.

NOTE: During assembly, check that the guide pins are positioned correctly.

NOTE: If the housing was not properly sealed during assembly or the fasteners were broken, use steel clamps as replacements.

Install the elements back in place in reverse order.
